Fort Belvoir FES (E466) and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire Thursday, March 31, 2011, at approximately 1:31 p.m. in the Lorton area of Fairfax County. The townhouse is located at 7708 Capron Court.

Firefighters saw heavy black smoke coming from roof of the three-story home upon arrival. It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control. The fire was contained to the attic of the residence.  The occupants were home when the fire broke out and escaped unharmed.  Three adults and two children have been displaced. Red Cross is assisting the family. There were no injuries.

The value of damages and cause is under investigation.
