Fort Belvoir FES (E465, E463, E466, T463, BC463) and Fairfax County F&R units responded to a multi-family dwelling garage fire Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at approximately 09:36 a.m. in Lewis Heights village. Located at 8724 Kimbo Lane. Firefighters encountered smoke and fire showing from the rear of the residence upon arrival. Firefighters found the fire located to the adjacent garage and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was brought under control in approximately 10 minutes. Fire damage was contained to the garage with minor exterior damage to adjacent residences. The family has been relocated by Housing personnel while repairs are made. There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $70,000. According to fire investigators, the fire is under investigation.
