Incident Description: Assistant Fire Chief Loomis was among members of his fire department that had arrived on-scene of a reported silo fire. Loomis had climbed the silo to investigate the situation and was returning back down the ladder when the silo exploded. Assistant Fire Chief Loomis died from injuries sustained in the explosion. The incident remains under investigation.
